Rock and Roll During a Trip to Cleveland, Ohio

in Travel

Cleveland, Ohio has something for every music lover. If you are a rock and roll fan, you probably already know that Cleveland is the place to be. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame allows you to stand next to the guitars and fashion of famous rock and rollers like Buddy Holly, Alice Cooper, and Smokey Robinson. While you are in town visiting this famous attraction, you might try to catch a performance at venues such as the Rocket Mortgage Field House, the Wolstein Center, or at a smaller venue such as the famed House of Blues. If an orchestra is more your speed, be sure to catch the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall and enjoy the haunting sounds of the Norton Memorial Organ.

Cleveland has a lot to offer sports fans too. You can always catch a game at Progressive Field or First Energy Stadium, where you can watch the Cleveland Indians “tribe” or root the Cleveland Browns to victory. Downtown Cleveland has much to offer in the way of family entertainment. One of the Cleveland Zoo’s favorite exhibits is the Rainforest exhibit, which the whole family will love.

Getting Around

Be sure to catch one of the free downtown trolleys to your destination for a unique experience. Cleveland also makes getting around easy with a rail system and plenty of convenient RTA bus routes. However, we think that walking is one of the best ways to see downtown Cleveland and experience its art, architecture, and history.

Connecting with Nature

If you are into nature, Cleveland has some of the best metro parks, either on or near the waters of Lake Erie. Some favorites include Edgewater Beach and State Park, Edgewater Marina, Cain Park, and Bedford Reservation. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is another favorite destination for nature lovers.

Shopping and Dining

If it is cuisine that you are after, you may want to take a trip to Little Italy and be sure to visit the West End Market. The Tremont neighborhood also has a wealth of fine dining and culinary experiences. When it comes to shopping, Cleveland has it all from the ultramodern to a trip into the past. Be sure to visit the CLE Store, Tower City, and the 5th Street Arcade. Cleveland is the type of town that you can simply walk the streets and discover quaint little shops and discoveries everywhere.

Where to Stay

We think that one of the best hotels in downtown Cleveland Ohio is the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade. The rooms are spacious and modern yet retain an Old-World charm that embodies this historic landmark. Many of the room overlook the Arcade so that you can enjoy the atmosphere and shop in the many unique Arcade Shops. Its location means it is one of the best places to have close access to all of what downtown Cleveland has to offer.
