If you love food, entertainment and travel, chances are you’ve either already been to a dinner show, or you’ve considered one. The following are some of the best dinner shows and theaters in the country, from large-scale productions to smaller options that have a rich history and a lot of charm.

One the Show at the Alabama Theatre

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is known for its extensive entertainment options, so to be competitive, a show has to be high-quality. One the Show at the Alabama Theatre manages to live up to that criteria. The Alabama Theatre is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year, and it’s often voted the best live entertainment theater in Myrtle Beach.

The theater was created by Gaylord Entertainment, owners of the GrandOle Opry.

One the Show features some of music’s greatest hits from a variety of genres including rock, pop, country, and Broadway. The MC is Greg Rowels, and Grant Turner is the comedian, who performs under the name Ricky Mokel.

Loews Royal Pacific Wantilan Luau

The Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a beautiful hotel at Universal Studios in Orlando. Along with being a picturesque setting at one of the world’s best theme parks, there’s also a great dinner show, which is the Wantilan Luau.

The Luau replicates authentic Polynesian food and dance, and there’s a pit-roasted pig along with live music during the show. The show is only held once a week. Walt Disney World also offers a luau at their Polynesian Resort if you aren’t able to make it to the Loews Royal Pacific. The luau at Disney is called the Spirit of Aloha, with fire dancers, hula girls and drummers as well. The view is of the Seven Seas Lagoon, and it’s a beautiful locale.

The California Magic Dinner Theater

The California Magic Club is a dinner theater with shows on Fridays and Saturdays. The California Magic Dinner Theater, located in Martinez, which is close to San Francisco, has been running for 14 years.

Tommy’s Gun Garage

Tommy’s Gun Garage is a cabaret-style, speakeasy-inspired dinner show experience. It’s comedy and music with a 20s theme and dinner, and drinks are integrated into the show. Marriage Can Be Murder

Marriage Can Be Murder is a Las Vegas murder mystery served with a delicious dinner. It’s a whodunit show at the D Las Vegas, which is downtown. You get a three-course meal along with your entertainment, and there’s an option to upgrade to a VIP package as well. The show is described as raunchy, hilarious, and highly interactive with a lot of one-liners.

The Barn Dinner Theatre

The Barn Dinner Theatre is a departure from the other shows on this list. It’s not in a major tourist city, and it’s not a large-scale venue. It’s located in Greensboro, North Carolina, but what makes it especially unique is that it’s the oldest operating dinner theater in the country. The Barn Dinner Theatre first opened its doors in 1964 and still offers Broadway-style shows and a dinner buffet with Southern-style fare.

Performances can vary quite a bit. There are comedies all the way to serious dramas.

Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre

Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre is located in Nashville, and it’s a much smaller venue than options in the city like the Grand Ole Opry. Chaffin’s is the second-oldest dinner theatre in the U.S., and there’s a high-end buffet with plenty of items to chose from. Some of the shows coming up this season include Annie, Sherlock Holmes the Final Adventure, and something called Southern Fried Nuptials.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Pigeon Forge

Finally, there’s Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Pigeon Forge. It’s a Southern-style show focusing on the battle between the North and the South. The audience is divided into two sides during the competition, and they’re participating throughout. The show includes talented performers as well as 32 horses and horse riding stunts. It’s a musical production as well.

The food is served in four courses including dessert, and there’s comedy from the Skeeter & Nugget show. There’s the music of Mountain Ruckus during the show, which is a combination of bluegrass and country and it’s very family-friendly.
