3 Natural Ways to Encourage Hair Growth

in Beauty

If you’re looking for an exercise in being patient, set a goal to grow your hair out. It always seems to happen that when you want your hair to stay a certain length, it tends to just grow and grow and grow. But when you’re wanting to grow your hair out long, that length can be very hard to come by.

Luckily, there are a few things you can try to get your hair to grow longer and stronger than it ever has before. To show you what these things are, here are three natural ways you can encourage your hair to grow.

Try Scalp Massages

The length of your hair has to do with a lot more than just that actual hair on your head. To have great hair, you also have to have great scalp health as well.

According to Dr. Debra Rose Wilson, a contributor to Healthline.com, giving yourself daily scalp massages can help to encourage your hair to grow longer and to have more thickness as well. Not only this but getting a scalp massage can also help to reduce stress and make it easier for you to relax, which can relieve some of the tension you might be feeling as you wait for your hair to grow to your desired length.

Less Shampoo, More Conditioner

Many people feel like their hair can only grow to a certain length before it essentially stalls out. However, this usually isn’t what’s actually going on. In many cases, if you’re not adequately taking care of the length of hair that you currently have, it can become damaged and break, which can make it seem like your hair has stopped growing.

To combat this, Ruby Buddemeyer and Nicole Catanese, contributors to Cosmopolitan.com, recommend that you skip shampooing your hair as much as you possibly can without it looking too greasy and that you condition your hair more often than you likely currently are. By shampooing less, you’ll be allowing the natural oils of your hair to stay in place for as long as possible, which can help your hair grow long and strong. And by conditioning your hair more often, you’ll build up your hair’s defenses against damage that could cause your hair to break and appear shorter.

Eat A Healthy And Balanced Diet

While there are all kinds of vitamins and supplements that claim to help your hair grow longer, Erica Smith, a contributor to The Cut, shares that if you’re simply eating a healthy and balanced diet, you should be getting all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that you and your hair needs to be healthy and strong.

If you want longer hair that comes in naturally, consider using the tips mentioned above to help achieve this goal.
