People have woken up to the numerous benefits of the substance, and the realization that you don’t have to get high to feel those benefits.

CBD does not have a psychoactive property. At least, the levels of any psychoactive substance within are so low that there isn’t a “high” attached. So what does CBD do?

Differentiating CBD with THC
The difference is simple. When you buy CBD oil that doesn’t contain THC (or contains very low levels) then there is no chance of a feeling of being high or euphoric as a result. The psychoactive element, THC, is not present in high enough volumes to interact with the human endocannabinoid system. So, while you might experience all those brilliant benefits, such as pain relief, you don’t have to worry about your motor skills or awareness being impacted.

CBD tinctures are usually taken “sublingually” which means they are put under the tongue and then absorbed into your system, one of the quickest and easiest ways to get it into your system.
There are capsules and extract that can be added to things as a paste, but tinctures are way more popular than the majority of CBD products.
What’s the Best Strength and Dosage for Me?
The CBD content that you are consuming is measured in mg. It is important that you realize first and foremost that there are no risks of overdose or taking too much, so you don’t have to worry too much about that. However, it is always a good idea to only take what you need, which means starting at a low dosage and working up until you feel the effects.
For the first week, try 3-5mg and see if you can feel the benefits and effects. If you need to work up, you can use lower strength tinctures to get up to 20mg a day, and if you still need more there are specific high strength tinctures you can buy.
There is not a standardized recommended dose, so it is about working out what is best for you. Dispensary employees might even be able to discuss this with you and recommend a dosage for you. Everyone is different, and your size and tolerance to cannabis and marijuana products will make a big difference. A little experimentation is required to get your dosage.
