Cover All the Anatomy Basics with the Top Apps

in Health & Well-being

I’ve been taking anatomy classes for a while now, and I’ve always thought that there had to be a better way to study than just looking over my books again and again. So, like most millennials, I took to the web to see if I could find any resources that would be helpful for studying anatomy. I came across a website called AppGrooves which was new to me, but it had a list of the top 10 apps for learning anatomy and I decided to check it out. I’ll include a link to it here so you can take a look if you want to.

Best 10 Anatomy Apps by AppGrooves

I was actually really happy with some of the apps that I found. They made learning about anatomy incredibly simple and I could access them right on my phone whenever I felt like studying, which was especially useful when I was out of the house. I’m including my favorite four apps below so you can take a look and, hopefully, improve your overall experience for those of you who are learning anatomy too.

Access Anatomy for Young Learners with 3D Bones and Organs

I’ll be perfectly honest, some of the illustrations you’ll find on this app are a little cartoonish. However, I will also say that the bright colors and simple design make it a solid tool for young learners. If you are someone high-school aged or younger, or if you know someone who is in that age range and studying anatomy, this app is super helpful for getting all of the basics down. You even have the ability to switch between genders and learn about the anatomical differences between males and females.

Use Daily Quizzes to Study with Daily Anatomy

You can take quick, adaptive quizzes and study flashcards every day with Daily Anatomy, which is super helpful if you want to commit certain facts to memory or prepare yourself around exam time. The app helps you track your progress to see how you’re advancing and to make strides toward improving your overall knowledge. While I don’t know if this would be a good app to use completely on its own, it does pair nicely with other anatomy study apps to really cement the information in your mind.

Learn Anatomy in Other Languages with Visual Anatomy Free

Something that’s super cool about Visual Anatomy Free, and the reason that it’s made it on my list of favorites, is that you can learn to pronounce all parts of human anatomy in four different languages: English, French, Spanish, and German. There are even pronunciation guides to ensure you’re saying everything correctly. I thought this was really innovative and something that I didn’t have with any of the other apps. In my opinion, rather than being used just to learn anatomy, it’s also a must-have for traveling abroad because you can express to others where you are sick or hurt in an emergency situation. That really impressed me.

View Realistic Illustrations with Muscle Skeleton

If like me, you’re into graphic design, then I have a strong feeling you’re going to find the illustrations in this app super cool. The whole thing looks almost cinematic; it really feels like you’re watching the opening credits of Westworld! Is it something you necessarily need to have for an anatomy app? No, not really, but it definitely makes learning about anatomy way more interesting. The skeletal surfaces are designed with high-resolution textures, which make them more life-like and entertaining to learn about overall. If you’re someone who prefers realistic illustrations over the more traditional cartoon images, then this is the app I’d recommend most for you.

As I said before, it can be hard to find a learning tool that helps you understand anatomy without putting you to sleep, but I think I’ve found just that and more with these four apps. I’m really excited to share them with you because I’ve enjoyed them so much, and I hope the same will be true for you. If you are currently learning about anatomy in school, or you happen to be interested in the subject in any way, you really need to check these out.
