Staging Tips that will Help you when Selling your Home

in Property & Architecture

If you are planning on selling your home, then you have to make sure that you stage it properly. If you don’t, you may end up making a bad impression or even losing out on a sale.

Remove Clutter

The first thing that you should be doing when virtual staging your home is removing as much clutter as you possibly can. If you have too much, then think about throwing it away or investing in a storage unit. All of your surfaces and floors need to be clutter-free, and any cupboards that you have should be neatly organised in case you have any guests who want to peek.

Inspect your Floors

Another thing that you need to do is make sure that all of your carpets are clean. Creaky floorboards can really put guests off your home too, so it is well worth trying to get them fixed while you can. If you have a hardwood floor, now’s the time for you to think about getting it re-stained or even re-waxed. This will make a huge difference to the room and it will also increase the value of your home.

Experiment with Rugs

Try adding a rug to the living room. Rugs make a home feel more homely and they can also add an element of comfort too. If you’re finding it hard to choose a rug then think about the colours that you have in the living room right now, and then go a shade darker. When you do, you will soon find that you can really bring out the personality and that it fits perfectly with your décor.

Refresh the Walls

Bright colours and wallpaper that is downright wacky won’t be doing you any favours. If you want to help yourself, consider giving your walls a fresh lick of paint. Warm and neutral is certainly the way to go here because it will ultimately make your home look well put-together and sophisticated.

Work the Windows

Every single window in the home should have curtains or blinds, but you should really avoid netting. This will make your space appear smaller and it will also block out a lot of light too. If you want to really accent the room then have long curtains and pull them right back too. This will let plenty of light flood into the room and it will also make it way easier for you to achieve that perfect look.

Buy Some New Furniture

When you move house, you’ll probably need some new furniture anyway. If you want to help yourself here, buy it early and use it to stage your home. Rauch wardrobes are always a good investment because they can make a room look more spacious and they can also add an element of luxury too. When adding new furniture, try and choose pieces that allow traffic to flow through the room and also make sure that you coordinate the colours too. This will give the maximum effect and it will also help your home to appear like a showroom, which is always a good thing.
