Scientific Games, self-described on their website as ‘a world leader in entertainment offering dynamic games, systems and services for casino, lottery, social gaming, online gaming and sports betting,’ has recently acquired premium live casino supplier Authentic Gaming. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Scientific Games has built its portfolio over 85 years, and its acquisition of Maltese-based Authentic Gaming allows them to enter into the global iGaming market.
The live casino niche makes up approximately 34% of the iGaming market, and this acquisition will allow Scientific Games to create immersive gaming experiences for players world-wide.
CEO at Scientific Games, Dylan Slaney said: “As a result of welcoming Authentic to Scientific Games, we will be uniquely positioned to continue to excite and entertain players to capture both the growth opportunities that exist within live casino and the convergence of players globally across digital and land-based channels by providing leading immersive experiences.”
Malta-based Authentic Gaming has a strong position in Europe’s iGaming market and is already integrated with many top European operators. The company brings casino experiences to players via mobile and online through livestreaming, streaming directly from some of the world’s most luxurious casinos, and live online roulette games like Quantum Roulette™ and Dragon Jackpot Roulette™, blackjack, and poker games. Baccarat is reportedly next on the list to be included.
Online casino games have grown massively in the last few decades and have continually dominated the iGaming market, especially now that websites have made online applications available to be downloaded on phones.
The acquisition will give Las Vegas-based Scientific Games access to new live casino gaming content, adding it to their own catalogue of games. With the new content under their belt, the company hopes to expand into the live casino sector in the United States by creating new studios and live casino products to offer them locally, as well as expanding internationally.
As well as securing Authentic Gaming, Scientific Games has been acquiring bingo and lottery-based platforms and deals over the past few months to expand their catalogue of content. In early October, the company declared that it had won the bidding process for a highly competitive ten-year gaming technology contract for Vermont Lottery through a grading system, with the option of a further ten-year extension.
Vermont Lottery is a lottery draw that has been active since the late 1970s. The contract will see Scientific Games providing the supplier with advanced services, games, and retail products for the lottery retailers in the state. The company will also provide it with a central communication network, PlayCentral® self-service machines, and WAVE™ retailer terminals.
Scientific Games won the instant games and lottery systems contract for the next ten years in Pennsylvania, as well as gaining new contracts in Denmark, Georgia, Bosnia, Poland, and Portugal. The company also recently announced that it had acquired ACS’s cashless table game solution, PlayOn, rebranded as AToM (Access To On Demand Money), as well as acquiring popular provider of sports betting, SportCast.
As Scientific Games acquires more and more lottery and casino-based solutions, its portfolio will continue to grow and ensure that the company continues to be one of the best in the iGaming market.
